The calm crystal clear water and stunning shoreline is what makes Ruby Lake a must visit on your trip to the Sunshine Coast BC. The best way to truly experience the magic of Ruby Lake is to get out on the water to explore the lake and all it has to offer.

Canoes, Kayaks and Paddle boards are available to rent from our reception desk.

Check our reception hours on the homepage for when we are open for boat rentals. All Boat rentals are first come first serve. We do not take any reservations for boat rentals. Boat rentals are not included in your stay at Ruby Lake Resort.

  • Canoes can fit up to two people maximum 
  • Kayaks and Paddle Boards are single person only
  • Children must be accompanied by an adult at all times while using the boats. 

All of our boats are $25.00 an hour plus applicable taxes and are charged based on a timer. $25.00 for the first hour no matter what and then rates are based on 30 minute increments. 

Payment for boats is due at the end of your rental and can be made via card or cash. Please note that our card machine charges a 2.4% processing fee on all credit card transactions. 

All Boat rentals come with the following: 

  • PFD (personal flotation device) 
  • Safety kit (whistle, rope & bailer)
  • Paddles

Damaged or lost equipment may result in a fine. 

  • Ruby Lake Resort's beach and dock are for resort guests only. We do not allow for the general public to use our beach as a boat launch. Please use the public boat launch off Hallowell RD 2 minutes south of the Resort or Dan Bosch Park 2 minutes North of the Resort. 
  • Boat rental guests are welcome to use our beach and dock to launch their rental from and have a bit of time before or after their rental for a swim. We kindly ask that if you are planning a full day at Ruby lake and are looking only for beach access that you go to Dan Bosch Park down the road.
