Right on our doorstep lies the calm waters of Ruby Lake, which are perfect for canoeing and swimming, with many little islands and secluded coves.

Dan Bosch Regional Park is just ten minutes walk from our resort and provides a nice sandy spot to play, swim and picnic - great for kids.

Ruby Lake Lagoon is the centrepiece of the resort’s 99 acre ecological reserve. This body of water is home to  88 different types of birds and is extremely diverse both in terms of the large variety of habitats and the abundance of different animals and plants.

The largest wetlands on the Upper Sunshine Coast surround the resort. The Cogrossi family have protected the lagoon and surrounding wetland area with a Conservation Covenant to ensure the protection of the land in years to come.

Dining is an experience to savour in our authentic Italian Trattoria Restaurant, specializing in cuisine from Northern Italy.

Our spectacular new patio overlooks the lagoon and bird sanctuary, and the famous Ruby Lake sunsets can be enjoyed while you eat a delicious meal on the best waterfront patio on the Sunshine Coast.

Our menu features fresh home-grown produce, wild coastal mushrooms, locally gathered seafood and wild game, complimented by a selection of fine wines.

Groups of up to 130 people can be catered for.

Enjoy a massage or relaxing spa treatment with our in-house Registered Massage Therapist. The Rainforest Spa overlooks the bird sanctuary and the tranquil waters of the lagoon.

All of the treatments offered can be enjoyed either inside a deluxe Safari Tent or as an outdoor treatment on a private, secluded cedar platform, surrounded by the forest for a truly natural experience.

The Resort is dedicated to fostering our environment and strives to preserve and enhance the natural, cultural and economic resources of our surrounding area. We try to harmonize our business with nature, whilst maintaining a minimum impact on the environment.

Local woodworkers, using reclaimed lumber and driftwood, have been commissioned over the years to enhance the natural feel of the property while promoting the Sunshine Coast’s skilled local trades people. We also maintain strong relationships with all kinds of environmentally conscious companies and suppliers. We use only vegetables grown without pesticides, organic cleaning products, employ the principles of natural fisheries and much, much more.

Ruby Lake’s average summer temperature is 17 degrees celsius - the warmest lake on the Sunshine Coast, and the whole of B.C. The water is also rated as one of the clearest and cleanest on the coast.

Numerous scenic and some challenging portage excursions exist for the novice and experienced canoe enthusiast. Some cottage and tent rentals include use of a canoe, or they can be rented for $10 per hour (plus tax).

They have landscaped the resort with bridges, patios, extensive gardens and rustic furnishings, giving the property an eclectic atmosphere that mixes cappuccino culture and European antiquity with a Canadian wilderness setting.

With its mild temperatures, long, frost-free periods and the sunshine from which it gets its name, the Sunshine Coast offers mild weather unlike anything found in the rest of Canada.

The Cogrossi family set sail from Milan in 1993 in search of greener pastures, where their love for nature, and birds in particular, could flourish. Their search ended on the Sunshine Coast. It was the complete opposite of everything they knew in Milan, where they grew up within one of the city's oldest and noblest families.

Giorgio Cogrossi was the force behind the creation of the resort’s performing arts Amphitheater and Rainforest Village. Inspired by his travels to Costa Rica, Bali and Europe, his quest was to create a synergy between spirituality, education, arts and culture.

His vision was to bring aspiring artists and performers before an audience on this unique and spectacular stage, and to create a calendar of events that integrate all expressions of art, culture, music, healing, poetry, writing, photography and health.

Giorgio’s recent trips to Bali are also in evidence - look for the beautiful wooden carvings and buddhas that now decorate the resort. It's quite unique!

As well as mountains and forest, you can see a 200 year old alabaster eagle from a castle back home, a rare organ that plays ancient waltzes and the Cogrossi family crest that can be traced back to 1468.

Those on the Sunshine Coast willing to share their gift and accomplishments can reach audiences who appreciate culture whilst being surrounded by the resonant voices of nature.

More than 150 species of trees and plants have been sown, all tailored to the needs of specific creatures. All the leaves, plants and mushrooms you see decorating the website can be found on the resort - spot them while you are here!
